It belongs to the humid temperate climate of the Patagonian mountain range; often snowing during winters and raining at the beginnings of spring and late autumn. Being surrounded by low mountains and lakes and such magnificent forests Villa la Angostura has its own special microclimate.
With winds coming from the Pacific, rainfalls reaches 4,000 mm annually in the International boundary zone with Chile. Compared with only 400 mm at the beginning of the Limay River, 60 km south from Villa La Angostura.
During the months of May and June, the heaviest rains occur as well the first snowfalls which then intensify in July and August.
The average annual temperature reaches + 9 degrees Celsius with maximum 30 degrees Celsius in summer and up to -15 degrees Celsius in winter.
